Standing Back Up
In addition to the 100,000 individuals that were slain, roughly 2.2 Bosnian Muslims were driven from their homes, taking their culture and history with them. This proved to be devastating for local scholars, who took great pride in Bosnia’s mostly undiscovered, rich history. Although the huge chunk of native Bosnians fled before the genocide, including Dr. Osmanagic, many are returning to their homeland in the wake of the devastation to help rebuild the local infrastructure and return to their studies.
