Gloves might be able to keep you warm in the winter, but with a little creativity, you can really have some fun.  When going out in the snow, cover your gloves with a disposable plastic version. The knit ones typically become cold and clammy after being exposed to snow, but by covering them in plastic, they will never get gross and soggy. Keep those hands warm!

  • While using a clothes iron to straighten hair is an old trick, using a hair straightener on collars and that space between buttons also works
  • If the wine's room temperature, you can ease that cork out by heating the neck of the bottle with a hair dryer. Just make sure you're not doing this with sparkling wine or wine that's been refrigerated or you could break the bottle or cause the cork to forcefully eject.
  • To make it easy to stow and reuse plastic bags, make a dispenser from a discarded 2-liter soda bottle. Cut off the top and bottom with a razor knife. Then screw the dispenser to a cabinet door or closet wall (or attach with hook-and-loop tape).
  • A wet-dry vacuum slurps clogs out of plugged drains. Even plumbers use this trick sometimes. If you need to increase suction, seal around the nozzle with a wet rag.
