Over 1 in 10 Americans Have Been Vaccinated for COVID-19

According to the CDC more than 1 in every 10 Americans have received a dose of the COVID-19 vaccine—meaning that over 70 million doses have been administered in total.

Of those who have received their shots, 14 million have been inoculated with both doses, equating to about 4% of the general population. Around 1.67 doses per day are being given across the nation, and cases are down by a whopping 57% since the country's all-time high at the beginning of January. Although hospitalizations remain high, they are gradually falling as the winter surge continues to "rapidly [ease]."

Despite the long road that remains until "normalcy," the vaccine rollout is growing more successful by the day. Fortunately, the vast spike in cases throughout the holidays is drawing to a close, and it is likely that around half of all Americans will have received their first dose of the vaccine by July.

Supply continues to remain an issue. However, a poll found that 71% of those surveyed were willing to get the vaccine—up from 65% in December.
