Apocalypse Now

Apocalypse Now is loosely based on the 1899 mook titled Heart of Darkness, which told the story of Joseph Conrad's war experience. In the Apocalypse Now narrative, the war happens to be the Vietnam War, and Martin Sheen takes on the role of Captain Willart, who was the main character from the book.
