Brewery Launches "for the Frontline" Beer on National Nurses Day

Harpoon Brewery's new beer is an ale with a purpose. "For the Frontline" is meant to show support to frontline healthcare workers and hospitality professionals risking their lives during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The "community ale," released on National Nurse Day, will be available later in the month of May. A portion of the proceeds will go to organizations like the Boston Resiliency Fund, Off Their Plate, and The Vermont Community Foundation's VT COVID-19 Response Fund in an effort to offer relief to those directly affected by the novel coronavirus.

"We chose to partner with local organizations that we knew could make the most of the proceeds and really help those that are on the frontline of this pandemic, from the healthcare professionals and first responders who are keeping us all safe, to the hospitality professionals who have served Harpoon in their bars and restaurants for so many years," said Dan Kenary, CEO and co-founder of Harpoon Brewery. "This beer is just a small way for us to say thank you and give back.

"For the Frontline" is a rerelease of Harpoon's original Harpoon Ale, a 5% ABV ale described as "easy drinking" with a smooth, medium body and crisp finish. The ale was originally brewed in 1986 during the establishing years of the Massachusetts-based brewery.
