Job Application Goes Viral After Company Shames Candidate on Instagram

By 1 year ago

When Emily Clow sent in her job application to a marketing company in Austin, Texas, she never expected to see a picture of herself on their Instagram story, but that’s exactly what happened. The page posted a picture of Clow in a bikini, taken from her private Instagram account. The page warned applicants from having pictures like that visible on their account.

“I am looking for a professional marketer – not a bikini model. Go on with your bad self and do whatever in private. But this is not doing you any favors finding a professional job.” Emily Clow was understandably very shocked to see this on the story and immediately spoke out online.

Emily asked the company twice to remove the photograph, both times they refused. However, after the post went viral, people began to harass the company for the invasion of privacy as well as shaming for wearing a bikini. The company has since removed all social media and taken down their website.
