Iconic Music Videos That Defined The Past Few Decades

“Under the Bridge” by Red Hot Chili Peppers (1991)

Until “Under the Bridge”, the Red Hot Chili Peppers had trouble getting on the radar. While “Give It Away” had become to a No. 1 hit, RHCP had yet to properly take off. That’s when the group met two-time Oscar nominee Gus Van Sant, who provided art direction for their album Blood Sugar Sex Magik and directed "Under the Bridge" on the streets of Los Angeles. The video was put on heavy rotation by MTV and won several awards at the VMAs. In the end, “Under the Bridge” was the song that really helped audiences to connect with the band, leading them to achieve worldwide success.
