“Hurt” by Johnny Cash (2002)

Johnny Cash passed away only 7 months after the video for his Nine Inch Nails cover was released. The video, directed by former Nine Inch Nails collaborator Mark Romanek, is a touching and heartbreaking tribute to Cash’s legacy in the time of his ailing health. Romanek wanted to capture Cash’s essence in both his youth and his later years. Even Cash’s wife appears in the video, although she died three months later.
