Hundreds of High School Student Bid Farewell to Their Beloved “Waving Granny”

Tinney Davidson was a beloved staple in the town of Comox, British Columbia.

Every day, for the 12 years she has lived in Comox, the now 88-year-old has waved to the kids passing by on their way to school. The teens loved seeing Tinney and her husband wave and would delight in waving back to them.

Even after her husband had passed, Tinney kept up the daily greetings to the high school students. In 2016, the students got together to give the widow Valentine’s Day cards and gifts.

When the students learned that Tinney was moving to an assisted living home they wanted to do something special for her. Over 400 teens showed up in her yard to wish her well and thank her for her kindness.
