Albert Brigas, a 69-year-old Vietnam vet, is now happily retired thanks to his boss.
Brigas was employed as a mechanic at Renown Auto Restoration in San Antonio, Texas for the past 13 years, and his employer knew he was working hard to finish paying off his mortgage so he could finally retire.
Brigas’s boss, Rudy Quinones, knew Albert was eager to retire and wanted to help his dedicated employee reach that goal faster, so he wrote him a check for $5,000 to pay off the remainder of his mortgage.
“To give them something they’ve been yearning for their whole lives–it’s incredible,” Quinones told the news outlet.
