One Episode Predates a Real-Life Scandal

In June 2017, reality show Bachelor in Paradise made headlines when a female contestant accused a male contestant of taking advantage of her while she was intoxicated. Eerily enough, SVU had aired an episode called “Assaulting Reality” the year prior in which a reality TV contestant made the same complaint. The episode prompted questions about the ethics of reality programming and sexual encounters.

  • The 442nd Infantry Regiment, a largely Japanese American unit that served during WWII, did so while their families were held in internment camps. Their motto was "Go for Broke" and they were the most decorated unit in U.S. military history.
