With all the craziness going on right now, people could use all the cute animal photos and videos the world has to offer.
Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, Illinois, has closed its door to the public and opened up the doors to the penguin exhibit.
While this may be a strange time for us, these days feel normal for animals at Shedd. Our caregivers are constantly providing new experiences for the animals to explore and express their natural behaviors with. Let us know what penguin activities you would like to see! Animal caretakers at the Aquarium took some of the rockhopper penguins in their care on a little field trip around the facility, and more importantly, they filmed it all to share with everyone.
A series of clips were shared as the penguins explored the public areas of the facility and were quite entertained with everything they encountered.
While times are strange for humans, for animals at the aquarium, nothing has changed. With the aquarium closed to the public, the animal caretakers decided to get creative in order to provide enriching experiences for the animals. The videos that resulted are awwwwwesome.
It's a #StPatricksDay penguin party! 💚🐧 While we can't go out & party, the animals can! Our caretakers are committed to providing enriching activities (like edible shamrocks) for the animals with or without guests here to see it. Check in throughout the day to see more! pic.twitter.com/Xz1bXd2zk0— Shedd Aquarium (@shedd_aquarium) March 17, 2020
