Vanessa Bryant, wife of the late basketball star Kobe Bryant, recently opened up about her struggle with dealing with the tragic loss of her husband and daughter. They were among nine people who died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas in January.
“I’ve been reluctant to put my feelings into words. My brain refuses to accept that both Kobe and Gigi are gone. I can’t process both at the same time. It’s like I’m trying to process Kobe being gone but my body refuses to accept my Gigi will never come back to me. It feels wrong,” she wrote.
Vanessa has posted on Instagram several times since their deaths, offering support for the other victims and sharing memories of her husband and daughter. She has thanked the world for their thoughts and prayers, but has also asked for privacy.
Vanessa also posted that a memorial for Kobe, Gianna, and the other seven victims will be held at the Staples Center on February 24th.
A public memorial will also be held for Orange Coast College basketball coach John Altobelli, his wife Keri, and his daughter Alyssa on Monday at Angel Stadium in Anaheim.
