Throughout much of the 18th and the early 19th century, the Crow flourished in the areas surrounding the valleys of the Yellowstone River. Although the tribe had previously lived a semi-nomadic agricultural lifestyle, it didn’t take long for them to adjust to life on the plains. Soon enough, the Crow started to form a hunter-gatherer society.
