Richard Throssel was another photographer who became famous for capturing photos of the Crow people in the early 20th century. His story was a little different, however, in that he was descended from the Canadian Cree Tribe and was later adopted by the Crow as one of their own.

Because he was a part of the community, Throssel’s works featured some of the most candid and intimate portraits ever caught on film.
