Jennifer Lopez is the picturesque example of “hard work pays off.” Lopez was born and raised in the Bronx with her mother, father, and two sisters. Her parents immigrated to NYC from Puerto Rico, and the Lopez family struggled to stay afloat throughout the early stages of J-Lo’s life. Lopez worked as a background dancer in clubs in the Bron until she got picked up for the television show Fly Girl in 1990. This show didn’t really go anywhere, but she did get noticed by Janet Jackson and was hired as one of her personal dancers.
