These Iconic Songwriters Made Insane Fortunes

Tim Rice ($250 million)

Rice was less involved with the music industry as a whole, but he was incredibly successful in his independent ventures relating to Walt Disney Studios. Rice collaborated with Andrew Lloyd Webber for a few different Disney productions, writing the lyrics for Aladdin and The Lion King. Rice found most of his success in collecting royalties from these films, an act that is not as profitable now as it used to be. However, his influence was pervasive, seeing as he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 1994, and has also been inducted to the songwriter’s hall of fame. He even has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which was installed in 2008.
