Queen of Flamenco, Charo’s over-the-top looks and performing techniques skyrocketed her to fame in the 1960s. She began studying classical music in Madrid under maestro Andrés Segovia, and she has single-handedly advanced flamenco music for the betterment of humanity. However, she has expressed that she regrets her stage presence tends to overshadow her music, because she is a truly serious guitar player. She, unlike most guitarists, does not have a tried and true instrument that she consistently plays.
