River Phoenix, a prominent child star known for his roles in "Stand By Me," "Running on Empty," and "My Own Private Idaho," was in the process of filming "Dark Blood" at the time of his death in 1993. He was only 23 years old when he collapsed outside of The Viper Room, a nightclub in LA owned by Johnny Depp. His brother, actor Joaquin Phoenix, is notoriously private about his brother, but addressed him publically for the first time in 2019 when he spoke about his latest film, "The Joker," and praised him in his speech.
