Daniel Radcliffe used to do his own stunts, but one day he was sick and couldn’t attend the set for an action scene. His stand-in, David Holmes, then opted to perform the stunt for him, which was a 13-foot lateral throw that ended in colliding with a padded wall. Holmes performed the stunt but was immediately rushed to the hospital complaining of neck pain. He had broken his neck in 3 different places and later was paralyzed from the neck down intermittently for 3 years.
