Buoniconti almost didn’t make it to the NFL, but miraculously, he was picked up by the Boston Patriots in 1962. Buoniconti brought the Dolphins to two back-to-back Super Bowls and is credited as the main reason they won. Buoniconti was offered a place in the Hall of Fame in August of 2001, as a reminder to never count out the underdog.
