Stalingrad

WWII's largest and deadliest battle took place at Stalingrad and has been a hot topic for scholars for decades. Director Joseph Vilsmaier shows the battle from the German perspective, using a small battalion of soldiers as the main characters. He shows the specific atrocities they endured while humanizing the soldiers.
