It’s undeniable, the Beatles were the most important pop band to EVER hit the scene. That being said, Sgt. Pepper was the most ambitious album that they ever made. The Beatles were at their peak in 1967, when this album was released, and they took a flying leap, disregarding their former pop-centric sound and did something a little different. This is still a Beatles album for sure, but it was such a departure from their prior discography that it caused some discourse in the community. Fortunately for them, this album is arguably the most memorable of the band’s existence.
