Andre Roussimoff became Andre The Giant when he became a WWF world champion. Born in Grenoble, France, he spent a majority of his early years working on his parent’s farm. His gigantism became apparent when he hit 6’3” at 12 years old. In 1966, Andre began to wrestle in Paris. In 1971, he made his way to Canada, where his career took off. His huge stature became a focal point, as well as his wrestling abilities.
