The Box (2009)
Donnie Darko director Richard Kelly’s third and seemingly final movie is an adaptation of Richard Matheson’s short story Button, Button. A suburban couple is met with a dilemma: press a button on a box and win a million dollars, but someone they don’t know will die. The box is only available to them for 24 hours. This exploration of the “what if?” in the context of a psychological thriller reveals the consequences of some dubious ethical choices.
