Even George Clooney knew that replacing Val Kilmer as Bruce Wayne in 1997’s Batman & Robin was a tragic mistake. “I always apologize for Batman & Robin,” Clooney said in a hilarious interview on The Graham Norton Show. “I actually thought I destroyed the franchise until somebody else brought it back years later and changed it. I thought at the time, ‘This is going to be a very good career move.’ It wasn’t.”
