Donkey Kong Country almost beat this out due to the simplicity of the game, but really the only complex addition was learning how to play as Diddy Kong and the other Kong-panions. DKC2 is brain breakingly hard (yet still fair) and you will find yourself addicted to attempting to make the same jump, slide, sequence dozens of times over and over.
