Enter the “failed” Sega mascot that everyone loves to hate, Sonic the Hedgehog (for the Genesis). The original sonic was a borderline masterpiece that you could sink hundreds of hours into playing and replaying, and never be sure if you found the best way to get around in this strange and speedy world. The Sonics of modern yore have let fans down chronically, but if you love the original format of Sonic, you should play Sonic Mania, a fan-created, Sega-Sanctioned, joyride of what modern Sonic games should truly be.
