There is a light at the end of the tunnel for Britney Spears. She hired Matthew Rosengart earlier this month to help her escape her toxic conservatorship with her family. He, along with her other attorneys, has asked for a professional fiduciary to replace her father as conservator of her estate. Right now, Jamie Spears is the sole conservator of her estate, despite the fact that Britney has asked him not to be.
Although it seems like Britney is alone in her plight, she isn't. Her personal affairs conservator, Jodi Montgomery, her mother, Lynne Spears, and her doctors have stated that it's in Britney's best interest to be removed from the conservatorship.
"Ms. Spears respectfully submits that the Court should appoint her nominee; in that, it is an objectively intelligent preference to nominate a highly qualified, professional fiduciary in this circumstance. Moreover, Ms. Spears respectfully submits that, given the Court's recognition at July 14, 2021, hearing that Ms. Spears has sufficient capacity to choose her own legal counsel, she likewise has sufficient capacity to make this nomination."
Vivian Thoreen, the attorney for Britney's father, had no comment about the filing. She's previously stated that there have been "a lot of misstatements" in Britney's testimonies and that Jamie "Loves his daughter and misses her very much."
It seems like Britney's attorneys are on the right path to completely free her from the conservatorship. Right now, they are working on removing Jamie from the conservatorship "unless he resigns first."
The next hearing will take place later this year on Sept. 29.
