For Women Experiencing Workplace Harassment, Emma Watson Has Your Back

Emma Watson, actress and advocate, has recently launched a hotline that provides free legal advice to women who experience workplace harassment.

The hotline is currently available in England and Wales on Mondays and Tuesdays, which they hope to expand in the near future.

Research says that 1 in 2 women have experienced sexual harassment at work but only 1 in 5 are comfortable reporting it. If women call the hotline they can get advice on what classifies as inappropriate workplace behaviors, how to make claims against their employers, settlement agreements and NDAs and other related legal issues that women in the workforce face when handling sexual harassment at work.

The hotline is funded by Time’s Up UK Justice and Equality Fund, kickstarted by celebrities like Watson who donated $1.2 million to the project.

“Understanding what your rights are, how you can assert them, and the choices you have if you’ve experienced harassment, is such a vital part of creating safe workplaces for everyone, and this advice line is such a huge development in ensuring that all women are supported, wherever we work,” Watson stated.
