VH1 actually wanted to do a competition series centered on fit Guidos. After finding the first batch of participants—Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jennifer “JWoww” Farley, Pauly “Pauly D” DelVecchio, and Angelina Pivarnick—the showrunners were ready but suddenly, the show got dropped from VH1 and picked up by MTV.
