Stan Lee
Marvel fans around the world were crushed by the news of Stan Lee's death. Lee had previously been hospitalized for pneumonia in February of that year. The immediate cause of death listed on his death certificate was cardiac arrest with respiratory failure and congestive heart failure as underlying causes. It also indicated that he suffered from aspiration pneumonia. During the last meeting, Thomas, who is Lee's protege and also a comic book writer, and Stan discussed superheroes and comics for about 30 minutes. Stan's last words to Roy before he left were, “God bless. Take care of my boy, Roy.”
