Canadian Man Has Emotional Reunion with His Dog That Was Missing for Four Years

Four years after Mike Plas’s dog went missing in Thunder Bay, Ontario, he got a very unexpected phone call.

An animal shelter in Winnipeg called Mike on September 20th and asked him if he had a dog named Jack. Mike told them that he had lost Jack four years ago, and to his utter surprise, they told him that they pulled his information from a microchip on a lost dog in their care.

So I got the greatest phone call iv ever gotten yesterday at work around 2 40pm…. an animal shelter from winnipeg…

Mike and some family members jumped in the car for the 400+ mile drive to the Centennial Animal Shelter in Winnipeg, Manitoba from his hometown of Thunder Bay. Mike showed the shelter employees photos of Jack and it was a match!

Then, the sweetest reunion took place and it was an emotional moment!

“Life without him has never been the same and the feeling of having Jacko back is unexplainable,” said Mike Plas in a Facebook post. “Never ever lose hope, I didn’t and after four years apart in different provinces we are together again.”
