Genius Parenting Hacks That Make Life With Kids So Much Easier

Tiny Bowling

Mom won't let you play ball in the house, but what about if you made it really, really small? This creative kiddo had the bright idea to swap out bowling pins for pencil erasers and a bowling ball for a marble. Set up everything like a regular bowling lane and get to playing! Flick, roll, or throw to knock down those pins. If you manage a strike with these pieces, that's impressive.

The More You Know

  • To make it easy to stow and reuse plastic bags, make a dispenser from a discarded 2-liter soda bottle. Cut off the top and bottom with a razor knife. Then screw the dispenser to a cabinet door or closet wall (or attach with hook-and-loop tape).
  • To keep your pot from boiling over, put a wooden spoon over the top of it. If it starts to boil up too high, the spoon will pop the bubbles and keep it from overflowing quickly.
  • If you have an unsightly deodorant mark on your clothes, don't rub your garment with a standard cloth and risk pilling. Instead, use a pair of pantyhose to gently rub the deodorant mark and watch it disappear with ease.
  • Run the sink water until the bowl is about half full. Then pull the stopper and turn on the disposer to flush it out.
