Tony Allen co-invented one of the most prolific yet appropriated genres of music of all time; Afrobeat. Considered one of the “coolest” drummers of all time, he influenced some of the highest critically acclaimed acts in history (Talking Heads, Gorillaz, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, King Crimson, pretty much every Brian Eno piece, you get the picture).
