B.K.D. refused to eat, drink, sleep or speak. Whenever a doctor attempted to touch him, he would thrash his arms around to try and ward off an help. Fortunately, after several days of being strapped to his stretcher, B.K.D. began accepting help. By the third day, the doctors got him to eat some ice chips, and he said a few words to his nurse. He told her that he had been living in the woods for 17 years. She then asked for his name, and he responded; “They call me B.K. around here, I think that’s my name…”
