Young Cancer Survivor Serves As Flower Girl At Donor’s Wedding

It takes a special kind of person to become an organ donor. It is especially special to be a donor of bone marrow. While it does not sound like much, it can actually become a painful procedure. But when Hayden Ryals found out that Skye Savren-McCormick, a 3-year old girl with cancer needed one, she didn’t hesitate. In fact, after Skye’s recovery, she even invited her to be a flower girl at her wedding.

It was a godsend that Hayden came into the life of little Skye. Her cancer had progressed so much that she needed a bone marrow transplant. But Hayden gave some of her bone marrow to save the life of this special child. Months after the transplant of Skye, her parents received a letter from Hayden asking if they would like Skye to be her flower girl. Skye was only three years old, and she had also gone through a transplant operation.

But after getting a clean bill of health from her doctors, Skye and her parents traveled to Alabama to be part of her June wedding. They said it was the least that they could do for Hayden after all the she had done for their family. The photos and videos of an adorable Skye walking down the aisle, and later spending some time with, Hayden were shared on social media. The story was shared and liked thousands of times and quickly became a viral sensation. People have commented on how adorable Skye looks in her little dress.
