Teenager Brings Cutout of Michael B. Jordan to Prom

Prom night is one of the most important events for any teenager. And while there is no shame in attending it alone, some will go to great lengths to get a prom date. Earlier this week, a high school senior named Audeva Agyeman couldn’t find a date for her prom, so she brought a cardboard cutout of actor Michael B. Jordan instead. The teenager from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania posted pictures of her “prom date” on social media where it quickly went viral.

Agyeman is a senior of St. Hubert’s High School for Girls in Philadelphia. She had always had a crush on the actor Michael B. Jordan, and so when it was time to pick a date, she decided that a cardboard cut-out of the 31-year old actor would make a great date. She has since posted pictures of her prom night with her perfect date, and it was retweeted more than 3,000 times.

“I asked my friend Tyler, but he couldn’t come because of college stuff,” she said, “My other friend Dillon was going with someone else, and everyone else said no because ‘Why would I go to an all-girl school prom?'” Agyeman said that she was inspired to bring the cutout date after she made a cutout of Zendaya for a friend.

“My options were Chance the Rapper or Michael B. Jordan because both are FINE,” said Agyemanon her twitter account. “I think the main reason I opted for Michael is because of his recent rise up because of ‘Black Panther.'” Her pictures made it all the way to the website the Shade Room, where Jordan himself made a comment on her prom date.

“This is called commitment,” Jordan wrote in a comment.
