Stranger Saves The Day By Restoring Destroyed Wedding Cake

Millie Maltby from Brixham, England, always loved to bake and make cakes. And so when it was her time to get married to her fiancé, Matt, she decided to design and create he own three-tier wedding cake. But when the big day arrived, disaster struck. The cake had collapsed when it was being transported in a car to the Berry Head Hotel, just one day before the wedding. But thanks to a kinds stranger named Clare Vaz, they were able to salvage what was left of the cake to create a new one.

It was just sheer luck that Vaz just happened to be delivering cupcakes to the hotel for another event that day. Vaz is the owner of Patty’s Piece of Cake bakery and had experience making cakes and other baked treats. The hotel staff had approached Clare, whose husband works at the hotel, and they asked her if she could help out in mending the cake. Vaz agreed and went to work immediately. Vaz was able to recreate the cake from pictures that was taken. And the finished product was almost identical to the original. To thank her, Maltby wrote a glowing review of the bakery and thanked Vaz for her generosity.

“To take the time to do that for a stranger is just astounding, and something you just don’t see anymore,” said the bride. “I don’t think I’ll ever be able to thank Clare enough. I’m just glad that the hotel gave their fee for having it fixed to Clare as she deserved every penny!”  Vaz said that she has since spoken with Maltby and her husband through social media.

″Millie is truly the most sweetest lady I have ever virtually met,” replied Vaz. “They both loved the finished cake but quite honestly, I didn’t really do much at all. Millie did all the hard work ― my part was just minimal in the whole event.”
