Dad Leaves Note for Daughter’s Last Day of School

Since Meg Sullivan was in kindergarten, her father Tom Sullivan has been making her lunches. He just always loved making meals for his youngest daughter. One particular chore that he enjoyed doing for his daughter was peeling her oranges for her. It was something that he had continued to do even until she was in high school. It was also something that her family had always teased them about, that he would always be peeling her oranges even at the old age of 17.

Then in Meg’s last day of her high school, she pulled out her lunch and found two unpeeled oranges in a bag with a printout. The printout had specific instructions from a “how to” website on how to peel oranges. On the instructions was also a heartwarming handwritten note from her dad. Meg said the note made her smile as soon as she read it. The note said “It’s time baby girl” and a crying smiley. Meg then posted the pictures on her social media page and it quickly went viral. People could not get enough of the story of this father, his daughter, and the touching lunch time instructions.

“I’m his last kiddo leaving for college this year, and you can tell he’s really really sad about it,” Meg shared. “He has always gone above and beyond and is easily the cutest and most caring man I’ll ever know. It’s gonna break my heart to leave him for college no doubt.” But one thing’s for sure, Meg will be going out into the world finally knowing how to peel her own oranges.
