The More You Know

  • Ever make a complete mess of your microwave when melting butter? Repurpose your butter wrapper as a cover for your microwavable dish.
  • Dab a dot of toothpaste onto a bug bite to reduce the itchiness and swelling, and get back to the great outdoors!
  • Seltzer water will revive gold jewelry if you combine it with dish soap and let it soak for five minutes.
  • To make it easy to stow and reuse plastic bags, make a dispenser from a discarded 2-liter soda bottle. Cut off the top and bottom with a razor knife. Then screw the dispenser to a cabinet door or closet wall (or attach with hook-and-loop tape).
