Kitty Hawk the Flying Car Ready this Year

According to Alphabet CEO Larry Page, the mysterious flying car called the Kitty Hawk, will be ready for sale by the end of the year. The President of Kitty Hawk, Sebastian Thrun is also the one who helped create the self-driving-car of Google. The Kitty Hawk Flyer is an electric flying vehicle that looks a little bit like a jet ski. But according to the developers, the Kitty Hawk Flyer is only a prototype, and the final version of the flying vehicle will look much different.

According to a few reviews, the Kitty Hawk is a light vehicle that weighs around 100 kilograms and can travel as fast as 25 mph. Reviewers compared the Hawk to something like a mini-helicopter but easier to maneuver. According to the Kitty Hawk website, the vehicle is safe, tested, and legal to operate in the United States, as long as it is used in uncongested areas. Unlike most flying vehicles, the Kitty Hawk does require a pilot’s license. According to the manufacturers, anyone can learn to operate the machine in just a few hours. The website shows a video of the prototype Kitty Hawk Flyer.

“The prototype looks and feels a lot like a flying motorcycle,” said a test pilot. “You mount the seat and lean forward, just like you would on a bike. The controls are built into a set of handlebars and work similar to buttons and joysticks on a video game controller. It takes off and lands vertically, like a helicopter. But unlike a helicopter, the Flyer is 100% electric and powered by eight rotors.”
