Jordan Peele’s ‘Us’ Rakes in $7.4 Million in Thursday Previews

Jordan Peele’s highly anticipated horror flick, Us, hit theaters this weekend and through Thursday night previews alone, brought in $7.4 million at the box office.

After opening weekend, it is estimated that the film could make $40-$48 million in the first weekend alone.

Starring Lupita Nyong’o, the story follows a family of four that travels back to her beachside childhood home and faces a terrifying opponent, doppelgangers of themselves.

Us is the second feature-film from Peele. In 2017, his film Get Out turned into a cultural phenomenon.

Outside of North America, Us will debut in 48 markets this weekend. Us‘ preview gross is among the best for a horror film.
