“Virtual Insanity” by Jamiroquai (1997)

Jay Kay and Jamiroquai accomplished a true one-hit wonder with “Virtual Insanity,” which appeared to be shot in a single take. Directed by Jonathan Glazer, it was voted by MTV viewers to be a music video that really “broke the rules.” In the video, the room seems like it just won’t stay still; the walls close in and the furniture shifts in bizarre directions. Glazer says the effect was accomplished by putting the entire set on wheels, including the furniture, and attaching the camera to one wall.
