Best known for her role as Ripley in the Alien franchise, Sigourney Weaver has been a staple in Hollywood since the 1970s. While Ripley was an iconic role that encouraged more female representation in sci-fi movies, she was unfortunately robbed at the 1979 Oscars and didn't receive a Best Actress nomination.
