Lil Nas X cleaned up at the MTV Video Music Awards, but the most memorable part of the night was his acceptance speech. When the meme king himself went on stage to collect the VMA for Song of the Year, he also pulled out a giant scroll.

— MTV (@MTV) August 27, 2019The winning song, of course, was his smash hit “Old Town Road” (remix) featuring Billy Ray Cyrus. He thanked Cyrus in his speech for “taking his career to the next level.” He finished the scroll with a simple thank you, but Twitter kept the ball rolling a little bit longer.
