The Bacon Patch Is Here to Help Vegans With Meat Cravings

Going meat-free can be difficult, but people do it all the time. For those who need a little help changing their diet, Oxford University has developed a meat-patch that will satisfy the cravings for meat without breaking the vow of veggies. The device was created by Charles Spence, an experiential psychology professor at the school. He specializes in sensory perception and how our mind connects to food and smell.

"Our sense of smell is strongly connected to our ability to taste therefore experiencing food-related cues such as smelling a bacon aroma, can lead us to imagine the act of eating that food," said the Professor "Imagine eating enough bacon and you might find yourself sated." The trial patches are being released in the UK towns of Reading, Leeds, and Liverpool under the company Strong Roots.

The product is being promoted and endorsed by love Island contestant and professional boxer Tommy Fury, who said "I've been hearing a lot about Veganuary, and I really wanted to try it. One of my new year's resolutions was to cut back on meat." Hopefully, Tommy Fury and other people who want to switch to plant diets can use the patch to stay on the right track.
