Player's Tribune Announces Retirement

In 2015, Kobe posted his official retirement announcement to the Player's Tribune. He would officially hang up his jersey after the 2015/2016 season. He was 37 years old. In a poem, he wrote that his heart and soul would always be in the game, but his body was telling him it was time to stop. He'd had a string of semi-serious injuries back to back, and wasn't at his most physically fit.
