Inside Japan Flight 123 As It Goes Down
505 passengers and 15 crew members died, and four female passengers survived.
On August 12th, 1985, Japan Airlines Flight 123 left from Tokoyo en route to Osaka. After 12 minutes, it became obvious that this was no routine flight. The plane decompressed suddenly and the stabilizer was destroyed, along with the plane's tail. Oxygen masks fell from the ceiling, pictured here. The photographer is unknown.
