A Tape was found on board, and they found Andrew had recorded some of his time at sea, pictured here. 

Andrew McAuley was an Australian kayaker who found himself lost at sea when he attempted to travel 994 miles by kayak from Australia to New Zealand over the Tasman Sea. In February 2007, the explorer vanished, and authorities only recovered his kayak but not his body.
